Remote system to control the costs of housing

Remote system to control the costs of housing

It is a comprehensive system that continually monitors the consumption of hot and cold water, heat, and electricity. Radio measuring devices are installed in each room or bathroom after an hour of sending the data to headquarters, where they are evaluated and shared in the information system. Data are available to students at www.flexim.cz.

The system sets up error messages that record excessive consumption that may arise from failure or inefficient operation of guests and, therefore, can SÚZ VSE immediately respond to possible failures or accidents.

This system will have an accurate overview of their consumption and the related housing costs.

For billing media, RFA covers:

  • Still only payments
  • Costs of losses on the distribution media
  • Costs of common areas, building operation, and cleaning

DOM

ISKAM

The price of residence fees on campus Jarov II in the ISKAM system is divided into two parts.
The fixed part is the rent and a variable component for actually consumed by the media.

Prices, incl. the applicable VAT rate for each media unit for 2024, are as follows:

1 m3 of cold water 144,88 CZK
1 m3 of hot water  279,11 CZK
1 GJ for heat from   536,91 CZK
1 kWh of electricity 6,47 CZK

After the end of each month, students prescribe readings in CZK according to actual consumption for the past month, which should be paid by the 20th of the following month. (Failure to comply with payment date begins on penalties) In the event of the termination of accommodation in the room during the month, the statement was made on the last day of accommodation.

Reinvoicing price

  • The University of Economics is not the owner of licenses for the sale of electricity or heat produced by the Energy Regulatory Office and can not, therefore, determine its price with a possible profit, as do other vendors.
  • Thus, students may not be charged more than the total price of the respective vendor.
  • Students have, therefore, invoiced only the items representative of the media consumption on the cell (room), and there are no fixed payments or payments for booking a performance, etc.

For billing media, RFA covers:

  • Still only payments
  • Costs of losses on the distribution media
  • Costs of common areas, building operation, and cleaning

Frequently asked questions

I used the heater only for a few days during winter, and I am still invoiced for heat, even though I don’t use the heater. Why must I pay several months for something I don’t use?

From a physical point of view, the absence of heat consumption in your room isn’t possible. You will see the difference if you compare outside and inside temperatures in the Maddeo application. If no heat produced by the building will be used, temperatures will match. The result is that the room consumes heat.

Description of system

The heat monitoring system measures the temperature inside rooms every 15 minutes. The charged price is for heat from heaters inside the room and from other rooms and corridors. From a technical perspective, creating an ideal state and isolating the room from heat is impossible. In that case, outside and inside temperatures will match. In case of payment absence for heat from surrounding sources, accommodated students can have the heater switched off and opened doors, and only other people will be charged. This is the fairest option for all students, based on all possible approved options. However, a completely ideal way isn’t feasible.
